Yesterday morning, I sent a message to a friend I hadn't seen in a long time, telling her I’d meet her at her salon in the afternoon. 💬 She replied with a quick “OK,” so around 3 PM, I drove to her salon near Kamala Beach.

When I arrived, she looked surprised and asked why I suddenly showed up after disappearing for months without a word. 😅 I smiled and told her, “Well, we made plans today, didn’t we?”

She laughed and said she hadn’t received any messages from me for nearly two months! Confused, I checked my phone—and realized I had sent the message to another friend with a similar name. Oops! 🤦‍♀️ We couldn’t stop laughing at the mix-up.

After catching up on life and sharing a few laughs, we decided to go for our usual treat—a Thai barbecue buffet in Patong. But when we arrived... the restaurant wasn’t open yet. 🍖🚪

While my friend was busy attending to a customer, I told her I’d head over to Surin Beach for a walk and come back to pick her up once the Thai barbecue buffet restaurant opened. 🚗🌴

Surin Beach, as always, was beautiful and lively, with plenty of tourists enjoying the soft sand and sea breeze. 🏖️ However, the weather wasn’t at its best—the sky was a bit gloomy, and it looked like rain might come at any moment.

This year, the rainy season seems to have arrived earlier than usual, which caught many of us by surprise. Still, the beach remained vibrant, filled with people strolling, relaxing, and soaking up the last moments of dry weather. 🌦️👣

The beach was lined with rows and rows of colorful umbrellas, creating a patchwork of bright shades stretching across the shore. 🎨☂️ Although lively, it felt a little too busy for my taste.

Personally, I prefer the early mornings at the beach—when the sun is soft, the air is quiet, and there are fewer people around. 🌅 Without the crowds and umbrellas, Surin Beach feels more peaceful and calming, just the way I love it. 🍃

I walked toward the far end of the beach, where the shoreline was dotted with scattered rocks of all sizes. This spot has always been my favorite—quiet, scenic, and perfect for taking photos.

The trees nearby offer gentle shade, and the rocks make for the best natural props. It’s the kind of place where you can sit, listen to the waves, and feel a little more connected to nature. 📸🍃

I spent a little more time strolling along the shore, feeling the cool breeze and watching people enjoying the water. 🌊👒 Some were swimming, some playing in the sand—it was a lovely, lively scene.

Soon, it was time to meet up with my friend again. We had a plan—and nothing could stop us from enjoying our favorite Thai barbecue buffet in Patong! 🍽️🔥

But since it was already evening, we got stuck in some pretty heavy traffic—a common thing in Patong during peak hours. 🚦😅 Still, nothing could dampen our excitement.

As always, the buffet was impressive and full of variety—everything from marinated meats, fresh seafood, and a colorful selection of vegetables, to tropical fruits and sweet desserts. 🥩🦐🥗🍍🍰

As soon as we found our seats, the first thing we had to prepare was our all-time favorite—Som Tum Goong (papaya salad with prawns). 🦐🥗 It was made with big, juicy prawns and shredded papaya, tossed in a fiery, flavorful mix that really woke up our taste buds. 🔥😋

It had been months since we last enjoyed a Thai barbecue like this. One reason was the crazy traffic, and the other... well, I’ve been trying to watch my weight. 😅 But sometimes, it’s okay to let go and enjoy good food with a good friend.

No matter how full we were, there’s always a little room left for dessert—somehow, it magically appears! 🍨✨ It's one of those unspoken rules when you're out with a good friend, sharing laughs and enjoying every bite together.

We finished our meal with sweet treats and full hearts. 🍮💛 It wasn't just the food that made the evening special—it was the chance to reconnect, to laugh, and to simply enjoy the moment without rushing.

Days like this remind me that even small plans can turn into beautiful memories when shared with the right people. ✨ Whether it’s a stroll on the beach or a spicy som tum with grilled meat, it’s the simple joys that leave the biggest smiles.
