Oh my holy hat that looks delicious! I am almost religious about pasta and you've nailed it here! It's similar to an Arabiata Pasta that we served at an authentic Italian restaurant I worked at as a teen called Mille Lucci - meaning a thousand lights. I will definitely give this one a try!

Mmmmmmm, aubergine, assorted peppers!... I can think of many great options! Although I'm sure the original recipe is outstanding. Perhaps it needs nothing added at all.
