Desde que estoy formando parte de la Cantoría he estado ensayando en varios lugares, empezando por la sede de los niños cantores de Oriente, la Unidad Médico Docente Las Garzas y más recientemente en la Panadería Brill. Todas estas instituciones nos han ofrecido su ayuda muy amablemente y, por tanto, para agradecerles siempre se está en la disposición de cantar para ellos.
Cuando llegó el turno de cantar para el personal de la Unidad Médico Docente Las Garzas, les comento que en el lugar recibiría una sorpresa. Luego de haber vocalizado y repasado un poco las canciones, todos los integrantes del coro nos ubicamos en una sala de espera hasta que nos llamaran a participar; estando allí, se acerca una mujer y pregunta: ¿Quién es Eugelys? Imaginen cuál no sería mi sorpresa cuando me dice: Soy Marlyn Cabrera @marlyncabrera, de Hive. ¿Qué tal?
Since joining the choir, I have been rehearsing in various places, starting with the headquarters of the Oriente children's choir, the Las Garzas Teaching Hospital, and more recently at the Brill Bakery. All of these institutions have kindly offered us their help, and so, to thank them, we are always willing to sing for them.
When it was our turn to sing for the staff at the Las Garzas Teaching Hospital, I received a good surprise there. After vocalizing and reviewing the songs a bit, all the choir members gathered in a waiting room until we were called to participate. While we were there, a woman approached and asked, “Who is Eugelys?” Imagine my surprise when she said, “I'm Marlin Cabrera @marlincabrera, from Hive. How are you?”
Allí conversamos un poco y además también estaba su hermana @adncabrera, fue grato hablar con ellas, es realmente sorprendente cómo en esta plataforma puedes interactuar con las personas así sea a través de simples mensajes en las publicaciones y viendo el contenido de los usuarios y sentir que llegas a conocerlas.
Ese día hice un esfuerzo bastante grande para cantar, porque pesqué una gripe que no me permitía cantar al cien por ciento; sin embargo, con mi mejor disposición hice una estrofa del solo de la canción De todos los caminos.
Cuando terminamos de cantar, ya había caído la noche y fuimos invitados a subir a la agradable terraza que posee esta clínica; allí nos ubicamos en unas mesas y recibimos una rica bebida que pueden ver en las fotos, una deliciosa tizana con frutas y recarga continua (lol). Así también degustamos un delicioso plato navideño; fue un gusto poder disfrutarlo y les comento que Marlin Cabrera fue la artífice de esa rica hallaca. Estuvo fabuloso, una porción sustanciosa y muy rica.
We chatted a bit, and her sister @adncabrera was there too. It was nice talking to them. It's really amazing how you can interact with people on this platform, whether through simple messages on posts or by viewing users' content, and feel like you're getting to know them.
That day, I made a big effort to sing, because I had caught a cold that prevented me from singing at 100 percent; however, I did my best and sang a verse of the solo from the song De todos los caminos.
When we finished singing, night had fallen, and we were invited to go up to the clinic's pleasant terrace. There, we sat at some tables and were served a delicious drink that you can see in the photos, a delicious fruit punch with continuous refills (lol). We also enjoyed a delicious Christmas dish; it was a pleasure to enjoy it, and I must mention that Marlin Cabrera was the creator of that delicious hallaca. It was fabulous, a hearty and very tasty portion.
Disfruté mucho esta experiencia gourmet y musical; me hubiera gustado quedarme más tiempo, pero como estaba recuperándome de la gripe, tuve que irme a descansar. La reunión se extendió y disfrutaron de más buena música en la terraza. También cantaron cumpleaños a uno de nuestros integrantes y me comentaron que las tortas estuvieron estupendas, que incluso hubo un pastel sin gluten. Todavía me pregunto si este lo creó Marlin, ya que en su blog se destaca por presentar muchas recetas saludables.
Me encantan los momentos en donde se unen mis más grandes pasiones, la música y la comida. ¿Qué más podría pedir?
I thoroughly enjoyed this gourmet and musical experience; I would have liked to stay longer, but as I was recovering from the flu, I had to go home to rest. The gathering went on longer and they enjoyed more good music on the terrace. They also sang happy birthday to one of our members and told me that the cakes were wonderful, that there was even a gluten-free cake. I still wonder if Marlin made it, since her blog features many healthy recipes.
I love moments when my greatest passions, music and food, come together. What more could I ask for?
