Yesterday morning was the standard melee of the boys pounding out of their room around 7:30. They were nice and waited for @stryeyz to get out of the hot tub before they threw their door open. The morning then was slowed a bit as we waited for my mom to come up for the main present opening.
By about noon the living room looked like a Pokemon bomb had gone off. I had Christmas cartoons on for the morning until I saw the new Doctor Who was up for download.
It was around 1pm when it was done so I got it on the tv. The new Doctor is going to take a bit to get used to.
During the day I spent time going through my goals sheet for 2024 and got my 2024 Hive Financial Goals post made. It all started with my desire to investigate the 20% savings interest rate but evolved into my goals for the next year. The plan as of now is to maintain a 15HP per day increase in Hive Power and add 3 HBD per day to my savings. By the end of the year that should amount to about 5475 HP and 622 HBD in interest.
Over the morning I spent time searching for suppliers of greenhouse parts. I managed to find the clips and the purlin connectors for WAY cheaper. The hard part is finding the pipe more local as the freight would be atrocious on it. I found a place in Moses Lake and sent an inquiry for pricing. I could drive there and pick it up for way less than freight would cost. Here's hoping they have really good bulk pricing.
I got the fire going before dark and made sure to build it up well for the evening.
SO delicious! The left was a sirloin and the right a t-bone steak. The marinade was:
Bourbon
Maple syrup
Brag's Aminos
Salt/Pepper
Onion/Garlic powders
veggie oil
Grilled them over the flames in the fire pit and we had homegrown baked potatoes and acorn squash with.
We made it out to soak at a normal time and got in a solid hour before we had to go to bed.
It snowed last night and this morning but only half an inch and now the rest of the week will be in the 40s during the day. Hopefully this will allow even a few of my seeds to sprout in the greenhouse. The boys will be working in their rooms to try and clean today, I'll be working on cleaning up around the house after the explosion of xmas day, Man Utd will be getting destroyed by Villa mid day, then I will come up with something to make for dinner this evening.
