One of the street foods I enjoy is falafel; they are quick to make, healthy, and reasonably priced; everything I look for in a different meal.
A few days ago, I was shopping with my friend Karla, so we spent hours in stores looking for what would "suit us best" 😊.
It was already 3 in the afternoon and we hadn’t eaten, so I told my friend we should look for something near where we were.

En días pasados, estuve con mi amiga Karla de compras, por lo que tardamos horas en tiendas buscando lo que "mejor nos quedara" 😊. Ya eran las 3 de la tarde y no habíamos comido, por lo que le dije a mi amiga que buscáramos algo cerca de donde estábamos.
It turns out that the center was bustling, so we went to a more leisurely area where several shops were open and welcoming customers who, like us, were carrying lots of bags and hungry.
The place doesn't just offer falafel, but also chicken and pizza. What I fell in love with was the oven full of meat and the typical aromas of their seasoning, so that was immediately what we ordered. Plus, there was a promotion of 2 falafels for $13. Wonderful!
Resulta que en el centro era un bullicio, por lo que nos fuimos a la parte de un paseo y allí estaban varios locales abiertos y recibiendo al público que como nosotras, estábamos llenas de bolsas y hambrientas. En el local no solo ofrecen falafel, sino pollo y pizza. Lo que me enamoró fue el horno lleno de carne y los olores típicos de su sazón, por lo que inmediatamente eso fue lo que pedimos. Además, había una promoción de 2 falafel por $13 ¡Una maravilla!
While we were waiting, we were also very thirsty, so we ordered some beers that were cold, to talk about everything we had bought.
We waited about 10 minutes for the food, and when it arrived, we got ready to eat. How was it? Good. Not as tasty as I had imagined on my taste buds, but okay. What gave it the flavor? THE SAUCES.
Mientras esperábamos, también teníamos mucha sed, así que pedimos unas cervezas que estaban frías, para conversar sobre todo lo que habíamos comprado. Tardamos unos 10 minutos esperando la comida y cuando llegó nos dispusimos a comer ¿Cómo estuvo? Bien. No tan sabroso como me lo imaginé en mis papilas gustativas, pero bien ¿Qué le dio el sabor? LAS SALSAS.
Too delicious! The sauces they serve with the falafel. There were three in total; the first was the popular chickpea one, which is very healthy (I would say); the second was a kind of whey, very Venezuelan, but the combination was amazing! The third wasn’t exactly a sauce, but more of a paste. We had trouble identifying it, and the girl told us it was garlic. She kindly gave us a little to try at home. I haven’t tried making it yet, but I’ll definitely go back to that place for their accompaniments.
¡Demasiado deliciosas! Las salsas que colocan para acompañar el falafel. Fueron tres en total; la primera, era la popular de garbanzo, que es muy saludable (digo yo); la segunda, un suero, que es muy venezolano, pero la combinación estuvo ¡Genial! La tercera, no era precisamente una salsa, pero sí una pasta. Nos costó identificarla, y la chica nos dijo que era de ajo. Amablemente, nos regaló un poco para probar en casa. No he intentado hacerla, pero seguramente volveré a ese sitio por sus acompañantes.
And speaking of the place, I liked the young woman's service, very quick and timely. The total bill was $30, since we ordered a falafel to take home for my mother and a few beers. The tip was $2, and in about an hour, we were back after eating and drinking something different; plus, I didn’t have to go home and cook 😎.
Whenever I can, I treat myself to this because in my community, it's not very common to sell this kind of food. Also, sharing a different moment with my friend is always enjoyable. That stage of going out with your friends without worrying about the time, I recommend you don’t skip it 😊.
Y hablando del sitio, me gustó la atención de la joven, muy rápida y oportuna. La cuenta total fue de $30, ya que pedimos un falafel para llevar a mi madre y unas cuantas cervezas. La propina fue de $2 y en aproximadamente una hora, ya estábamos de regreso después de comer y beber algo diferente; además, no tuve que llegar a casa cocinando 😎. Siempre que puedo me doy estos gustos, porque en mi comunidad no es muy común que vendan este tipo de comida. Además, el compartir con mi amiga un rato diferente, siempre es placentero. Esa etapa de salir con sus amigas sin reloj, les recomiendo no saltárselas 😊.
