The Hive Power Up Day has truly become an important moment in the life of our community and, once again, this edition did not disappoint us although this time no record was broken.
A few words from the PUD organizers
Last month, I thought for sure we would break records with the power up amounts (thanks to the timing of the HBD price soaring) but while there was lots of excitement and loads of power ups, the numbers were actually a bit lower than I expected. However, I think it was due more to not having one or two big power ups from larger accounts, as we definitely had more HivePUD posts than the month before.
I mention this because I get the feeling it's going to happen again this month. I've seen lots of activity on Twitter & the blockchain with the HivePUD & HPUD tags, but I think the overall amount might not be as big as in month's past. Which doesn't change the fact that today was a super fantabulous Power Up Day! I've seen many faces (both new and old) taking part, and I think all the chatter about investing into our blockchain is far more valuable than what the actual number turns out to be!
Thanks to everyone who participated in whatever way (big or small) to make this day such an awesome success! And special thanks to the HiveBuzz team for BEEing such an amazing buzz-maker!
What are the PUD stats of this month?
As mentioned above, we didn't break a record this time around. This is undoubtedly due to the crypto rally which saw the price of HIVE go up, making it a bit more difficult to acquire HIVE for a power-up.
But let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers.
We have 15 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 17 people to get their PUD badge.
Special kudos to those who were helping several accounts:
junkfeathers (2) and @sandymeyer (2).
Together, the helpers gifted 311.735 HIVE!
Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@junkfeathers (65.00), @ervin-lemark (50.00), @nomad-magus (50.00), @skylinebuds (25.00), @sandymeyer (20.00), @traciyork (11.11), @fermionico (10.62), @dawnoner (10.00), @joanstewart (10.00), @melinda010100 (10.00), @ramzimo68 (10.00), @richardfyates (10.00), @tazi (10.00), @trangbaby (10.00) and @victoriabsb (10.00).
A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.
We now have 89 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone. These benefactors got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge:

(List by number of helpees)
Remember that the number of people you are helping will have a significant influence on the delegations we will do.
But before writing about that, take a look at how you did against the previous editions:
New record for the number of participants with 379 users who powered-up their HIVE.
New record for the volume of HIVE which was powered-up too. No less than 166380 HIVEs have been staked.
Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:
In nearly all levels, you did better than the previous month, with new records for level 2, 4 and 5 and 35 big stakers who got the Jumbo-Bee thanks to a power-up of at least 1000 HIVE!
Among them: @hivelot (50000), @bartosz546 (13585,522), @peakd (6521,2), @jarvie (5500), @sandymeyer (5000), @french-tech (5000), @melinda010100 (4000), @marcocasario (3142,972), @edicted (3000), @unicornis (2814,58), @deepresearch (2500), @naturalmedicine (2308,515), @juansgalt (2003,987), @thebluewin (1529,17), @satren (1300), @jack.russelle (1299,52), @primersion (1238,786), @fieryfootprints (1180), @forykw (1122,06), @flauwy (1111), @ewkaw (1100), @wehmoen (1098,35), @ecency (1079,801), @vxn666 (1060,241), @galenkp (1050,963), @johnspalding (1006,167), @howweroll (1001), @nickyhavey (1001), @detlev (1001), @crimsonclad (1000), @kaerpediem (1000), @walterjay (1000), @pouchon (1000), @oliverschmid (1000) and @dalz (1000).
Hive Power delegations
Since the beginning of the year, we are rewarding regular participants and those who have also been generous in helping others by offering a 3 weeks Hive Power delegations.
To be eligible for a delegation:
- you must have participated in this Power Up Day.
- You must have performed at least 5 power-ups on Power Up Day. Power-up received from another user is not taken into account.
- 4 of these 5 power-ups must have been done on the last 5 Power Up Days (including this one).
The last rule has been slightly modified from what we announced in order not to penalize those who unfortunately missed a PUD (shit happens). This allows us to support a bit more participants and reward your commitment and consistency.
To compute the amount of HP delegated to each user, we use the following criteria:
- The number of power-ups performed.
- The number and levels of power-ups you have performed (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
- The number of people you helped to power-up and the amount involved.
This month we will delegate no less than 3616 HP to 102 users
Congratulations to all of you!
