The November 1st edition of the Hive Power Up Day was the best ever in terms of participation with a record number of 476 participants.
This clearly shows that the ower Up Day is becoming more and more an important moment in the life of our community. It is also a beautiful demonstration that investment and fun are compatible things.
A quick reminder too: we started a new edition of Power Up Month in November. Let's see if the number of participants will be as high as during the previous edition, and especially if more participants will manage to keep pace throughout the month. With the 903 users who are eligible to receive the PUM badge up to now, it looks like it's off to a good start.
A few words from the PUD organizers
Happy November, everybody! And what a busy month this is! Not only do we have Hive Power Up Day to kick things off, but to make it even better, Hive Buzz is doing another Hive Power Up Month. Then there's #HiveBloPoMo (Hive Blog Posting Month (hosted by me) and #NaPodPoMo (National Podcast Post Month (hosted by @epodcaster) - so much blockchain fun to be had!
With so much going on, I can't say for certain, but my feeling is that we're going to have another great month of people (new and old) joining in to power up, even if the amount they stake isn't a record breaking amount.
As I say every month, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on our blockchain home, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day. And here's to all the happy Hiveans who are increasing their voting power and influence on the blockchain!
What are the PUD stats of this month?
Before going straight to the volume and participant stats, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.
We have 9 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 17 people to get their PUD badge.
Special kudos to those who helped several accounts: @saboin (5), @egistar (3) and @primersion (2).
Together, the helpers gifted 486.313 HIVE!
Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@saboin (350), @egistar (30), @primersion (20), @brittandjosie (25), @generikat (20), @traciyork (11.11), @qwerrie (10.20), @gaboamc2393 (10) and @menzo (10).
A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.
We now have 160 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone. These benefactors got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge:

(List by number of helpees)
Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegations we will do to you.
Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, we broke the attendance record with an all-time high of 476 participants (+21%).
Regarding the volume of HIVE that has been powered up, there is nothing to be ashamed of compared to the previous month, with a slight increase to 60624 HIVE powered-up.
Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:
Congrats to @kryptodenno (6000), @starthilfe (3145,899), @cmplxty (2090), @m31 (1976,101), @dalersilfver (1486,299), @mciszczon (1400), @braaiboy (1395,373), @eghnim (1365,749), @forykw (1023,841), @stayoutoftherz (1015), @deepresearch (1001), @beanz (1000), @achim03 (1000), @ph1102 (1000), @pouchon (1000) and @arcange (1000).
They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.
Hive Power delegations
Since the beginning of this year, we are rewarding regular participants and those who have also been generous in helping others by offering a 3 weeks Hive Power delegation.
To be eligible for a delegation:
- you must have participated in this Power Up Day.
- You must have performed at least 5 power-ups on Power Up Day. Power-up received from another user is not taken into account.
- 4 of these 5 power-ups must have been done on the last 5 Power Up Days (including this one).
To compute the amount of HP delegated to each user, we use the following criteria:
- The number of power-ups performed.
- The number and levels of power-ups you have performed (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
- The number of people you helped to power up and the amount involved.
This month we will delegate 5746 HP to 128 users
Congratulations to all of you and enjoy our delegation!
See you on December 1st for the last PUD of the year!
