Even though I now spend Sundays studying, I still manage to have fun after class. Because juggling work and school can be difficult, I need to schedule some leisure time in order to keep my life balanced. After class on Sunday, my friend and I went to a show. It's an annual exhibition here in Hong Kong to celebrate the arrival of spring. We split at night, and as my tummy was already growling, I looked for a place to dine.
While returning to the MTR station, I stumbled upon Pandan Leaf which serves Indonesian cuisine. Although I have had Indonesian food from Indo shops before, I have never visited an Indonesian restaurant. The menu book at the entrance had an enticing set of Indo cuisine, so I decided to give it a try. There is a variety of Indonesian cuisine, some of which are pricey but reasonable.

Inside the restaurant, I could sense the Indonesian atmosphere in the displays, interior decor, and music. Most of the diners are Indonesian too, even the servers.
As I've mentioned here, Indonesian like chilis, so I looked for a menu that doesn't have one. Though a little costly, the pandan rice with poached chicken was what drew my eyes. With the exception of the green pandan rice that goes with it, it is comparable to Hainanese chicken. It was served with a flavorful broth that tasted like pork bone soup. Everything was rich in flavors, and I loved them.
I didn't leave a single grain of Pandan rice on my plate. I am starting to love it. If I ever find myself in this neighborhood again, I will definitely stop by this restaurant. Any cuisine that has pandan flavor is enticing to me, especially traditional Asian delicacies. There are still more enticing Indonesian foods that I want to try. As a foodie, I am always curious to taste new culinary flavors. I went back home that night with a full and satisfied tummy.
Thanks for your time.
