Hello, how are you? Last month my bought tawilis fresh from Tagaytay and then a school gave her a big Kalabasa (Squash) they planted in their school which is so cool and I was about to cook it with Bagoong but we ran out of kamatis (tomatoes) and then I remembered we bought a lot of Ginitaan (Coconut Milk) and yes it is been a while since I cook one because last time my mom said that she prefer the Bagoong that the Ginataan so since then I rarely cook it with Ginataan LOL.
So today I have reason to cook it with Ginataan (Coconut Milk), and I am telling you it is perfect with the dried Tawilis :D
Ingredients I Used:
Ingredients I Used:
- 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil
- Half cup Meat
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Onion
- 1 Ginger
- 2 tbsp Fish Sauce
- 200g (Ginataan)Coconut Milk
- 200g Water
- 1 Chicken Broth Cube
- 1/4 tsp. Cracked Pepper
- Half Kilo Kalabasa (Pumpkin)
- 1 Cup Malunggay Leaves
- 4 Small Chilis
- Dried Tawilis
- 1/4 Cup Cooking Oil
Let's Cook!
Let's Cook!
In a hot pan, I added 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
Then I added the meat, you can use any meat of your choice.
And then I cook it until it is crispy, and browning starts appearing. I like the meat crispy, so I did it like in the photo.
And then I added the aromatics like garlic, ginger, and onion. And then I cook it until the aroma comes out.
Then I added two tablespoons of fish sauce.
After that, I added the Ginataan (Coconut Milk).
Next is the same packaging of the coconut milk. I added water to it. I added about 200g, just like the coconut milk.
To make it more delicious, I added a chicken broth cube.
And then I added 1/4 teaspoon of cracked pepper. It was supposed to be ground, but that will work.
Then I added the kalabasa (Pumpkin).
Let it cook for about 5-7 Minutes. Medium to High heat.
After that, I added the malunggay leaves.
And we ran out of long green chilis, so I added 4 chilis I harvested in our front yard.
Delicious!
Frying the Dried Tawilis:
In another pan, I added about 1/4 cup of cooking oil.
And then I added the tawilis in and cooked it under high heat for about 3-4 minutes on high heat, making sure to mix it every time so that I will not burn and be cooked evenly.
Perfect to eat using your hand! Happy eating :D
