Cooking Blog: Pork Pochero with alot of Veggies

Hello, how are you? I saw qurator have this week challenge Hive Top Chef competition topic is Colorful which I was thinking of what food that can represent that not just colorful but delicious as well, so what dish you may ask I’m going to cook Pork Pochero is a stew and one of my cousins favorite and mine as well because the ingredients is phenomenal you have meat with alot of veggies in it. It is savory and perfect to pair with rice, and I will show you how I cook my own version. Enjoy!



Ingredients I Used:

  • Half Cup Cooking Oil
  • 2 Carrots
  • 6 Banana (saba)
  • 1 Cabbage
  • 9 Long String Beans
  • 5 Potatoes
  • 1 kg Pork
  • 1 tsp. Ground Pepper
  • 1 Bulb Garlic
  • 2 Red Onion
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 250g Tomato Sauce
  • 1l Water
  • 1 Pork Broth Cube
  • 2 Tbsp. Fish Sauce
  • 100g Hunts Pork and Beans
  • 1 Tsp. All in one Seasoning


Let's Cook!

In a hot pan, I added about half a cup of cooking oil.

And then I added the potatoes, carrots, and banana. I fried them until browning began to appear. After that, I set them aside for later.

In the same pan, I reduced the oil to about 1 tablespoon, and then I added the half-kilo pork cube.

I cook them until the texture of the meat turns crispy. Then I added a teaspoon of ground pepper for the spice.

And then I added the aromatics like garlic and red onion, and I cooked them until the fragrance came out.

I added the tomatoes and then cooked them until the texture of the tomatoes turned mushy.

Then I added 250g of tomato sauce, and then I mixed everything.

Then I added 1 liter of water and mixed until well combined.

To make it more tastier I added 1 pork broth cube.

Then I added about 2 tablespoons of fish sauce.

Let it boil and cook it until the meat is soft enough. I check the meat every 30 minutes if the meat is tender enough to eat.

To make the texture thicker, I added 100g of pork and beans. Mix them.

And then I added the potatoes, carrots, and saba (banana) into the pan.

Then I added the cabbage and the long string beans.

And then I cook them for about 5 minutes.

After that, I mix them all and cook them again for 5 more minutes, and if necessary.

To add more season to it, I added a teaspoon of all-in-one seasoning and mixed it all.

Serve hot and plated!
