Hubby was a Type 1 from age 8; at least he could inject a little extra if he cheated. Fortunately, he wasn't a sweet tooth. I think Type 2 is more difficult to control, if I'm not mistaken?

Yes, Type 2 is extremely difficult to control so that it won't advance to Type 1. I was diagnosed in 2019.
As it is for me with my love of anything chocolate. I'm a fool for it and spend hours trying to figure out sugar-free options that are palatable.
