1st Day
The Preparation
⏰⏰⏰
My morning started with my phone's alarm.
It's 4:30 in the morning but I had a rough night so I turned off my alarm and closed my eyes again...I'll wait for the next one.
My youngest daughter woke me up with a cry while saying "dede" which prompted me to check my phone. I might have overslept...Thank goodness it's still 5:23.
I hushed my baby to sleep again and after which, I went out our room and prepared for my day travel.
I checked my luggage, my backpack, my sling bag.. They're all ready to go. All these preparation for a three-day seminar at Paradiso Resort in Aringay, La Union.
While waiting for our ride, I felt a grumbling sound from the biggest part of my body-my stomach. i hurriedly grabbed a food and swallowed it with much rush since I don't want to be late. After that, I went to where I told my colleagues to meet me.
We call this the "Talipapa on Wheel". This is manong Joel's tricycle with lots of products like gulay (vegetables), fish ñroducts, meat products and meriendas specifically kakanins (Rice cakes).
I bought three of this for us to est inside the Van.- Palitaw with crushed nuts
Selfie-ying while waiting
Our ride was sponsored by the Municipality of Tuba and it was past 7 am that they came for me. They laughed at me as I carried my luggage inside the van. They jokingly told me that our seminar will only last for 3-days not for a month for it seemed like I prepared for a month long seminar. We all laughed.
my sleepy Cluster School Head (blue shirt) and fellow AO (with peace sign)
More snaps from inside the Van.
While inside the van, I tried to sleep but the excitement tingles my ears and keeps me awake for the whole travel. It's my 2nd out-of-town seminar. I started being talkative. We shared stories and laughed while on the way till we arrived on our destination.
Arrival
Yeey! We arrived!
outside look of the seminar area
Upon arrival, we thought we'd go straight to our room since it is still early but no...we went to directly to where the seminar room is and told us to put our luggage on the corner of the entrance. It's okay but I just wish they placed at least a table-not directly on the floor.
Lonely bags in the corner of the Seminar Room
We looked for a place to sit and waited for the start of the Seminar and while waiting, We continued chatting, drank coffee and prepared the things that wed be needing during the discussions.
My coffee recipe for today: 1/4 cup of hot water, 3/4 cup of the brewed coffee, 5 tsp. of creamer and 2 tsp. of brown sugar
Our Room Assignment
After a while, we were called by our District Coordinator and told us to choose our room. The reason why we did not go straight to our room is because there is no room assignment yet. And so, we chose a room with 2 single bed plus an extra bed where I'll be sleeping.
What a cute room size
In case you're wondering how our comfort room looks like.
I am very much amazed on how the Resort maintained its rattan walls and ceilings including their bamboo floors. It is also incorporated in their Seminar Room. The floor may not be tiled but their ceiling looks amazing.
Just a beautiful display made from shells
The hallway might be creepy but if you look closely, it is beautiful
A very relaxing place to rest

Just Before the Seminar
It was already 9:30 and we haven't started the seminar proper. They distributed our morning snacks and we ate it while waiting. It was a mini-coke and Egg Sandwich.
It doesn't look appealing but actually tastes good.
yum yum!
Seminar Intro
School Contingency Plan - our main topic for this seminar. We are expected to prepare the school's DRRM Contingency Plan after this 3-day Seminar but before the proper discussion, we started off with Nationalistic Song followed by a prayer and welcome remarks.
Behaved employees
After the introduction/purpose of this seminar, we had our lunch. It is not as extravagant like other seminars but I like it's simplicity and taste. It shows naman sa picture...ubos 🤣
After our lunch, me and my roommates decided to relax in our tiny room for a while.
And at exactly 1:30 pm, we went back to our seminar room and continued the discussions.
While having the discussion, we I felt very sleepy so I decided to bring out my "baon". My weapon during the holy hour: a Cornik! Who else here loves to eat cornick during seminars?
I don't bring food only for myself but I also consider others. I may look like a glutton but of course, I have to discipline myself when I am around other people🤣
For our snack, I am sorry for I failed to take a snap of the food they served. It's puto-bumbong with a pack of juice . 😋
We ended our 1st day at 5:20 pm and they also served dinner right after the dismissal time. We haven't finished our workshops yet but they told us that we can make it our assignment.
They served us a heavy dinner: Rice, Egado, Adobong Pusit, Pakbet, Sinigang na Bangus and a banana for dessert! My stomach is full and so is my heart!

Best part of the Day
After dinner, I went back to our room to use the comfort room for the "you-know-what". Gosh it felt good! my stomach had another empty space!
My roommates followed after and caught me lying in bed, doing my assignment. Upon entering, I warned them not to go into the comfort room but one of them insisted to use it. I panicked .001% 🤣. I opened the comfort room and sprayed alcohol but the unwanted smell doesn't want to go. It stayed there like it was another guest!
We all laughed while inhaling that unwanted smell 🤣.
We decided to go out to let our noses be refreshed. While going to the seaside, we passed by some beautiful bougies.
Beautiful Bougainvillea
When we reached the seashore, we witnessed a breath taking view.
Jump Shots with the sunset background
My colleagues' silhouettes
I tried to strike a sexy pose but na-ah.🤣🤣🤣
We are reminded by the resort staffs not to swim beyond 5 pm since the waves are quite strong already but they have a pool that is available till 9 pm so we went back into our room, changed clothes and swam into the pool. We didn't stay long because it felt itchy already.
I just took some pics and returned to our room to take a bath. Afterwards, we already prepared ourself to sleep and that's where I am now. So tired and wanting to sleep already.
Takeaways
Sharing is caring.
We have to enjoy every little bit of the things we acquire.
Finish work before going somewhere else so you won't rush things out on submission day.
Appreciate things around you.
I hope you enjoyed your day! that's it for my 1st day of Seminar! Come and read again my story for the next parts! Good night!
