The door opens and F, a friend of ours came in with a huge piece of smoked salmon in her hands. It was that time again, where her father had a good deal on these delicacies. That much the he sometimes doesn't even know anymore what to do with it... Lucky us !

Though this time F had her birthday incoming and for the party she came to ask, if we could make some Maki-Sushi out of that piece of fish, since she loved our way of making them.

Sure yes, we said and since my love had to work the afternoon, it was on my duty pleasure list. The party started in the early evening, so a lot of time to prepare this delight.

All one needs to roll some of this version is:

  • Nori Seaweed Sheets
  • Sushi Rice
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Carrots
  • Spring Onions
  • Black Sesame Seeds

When the rice is cooked to "perfection", the veggies cut to small pieces and all the tools are "mise-en-place", you can start to bring the tastes together in fine layers. (The "Fine" depends a lot on your own gusto, i often make them too thick to roll the roll.) Hehehe !

So once the Nori sheets are filled, you roll them and with a sprinkle of water on the one end of the seaweed you "glue" it. All this is done until all the ingredients are "gone" or you arrive on the maximum of what you can eat that day. (That also depends... hehehe.)

Cut the Maki's and arrange them on a plate. I used some wooden planks, since there was a lot of Sushi for a lot of folks. Served with some soy sauce and wasabi on the side, to dip into it... (Beware, to much of the green stuff really clears out the nose.)

It was a first for me to use a smoked salmon, since we "normally" use fresh fish. Though it was as good as it can get. A success for all and everyone, even friends who do refuse raw fish where taping in and where delighted.

So go for it... try yourself. You can't do anything wrong with this version.

Your ‘tips’ and ‘delegations’ are much appreciated ! Thank you !

The “true” way of a community is to support each other, also on Hive. Since it doesn't make sense to wait for the mercy of a millionaire to send us $$$ - we support each other with the best we can.

Tipping or delegating is a way to show that you appreciate the work
, even after a contribution has gone through the seven days of voting, and thus the opportunity for gracious "giving" is over. Plus, that way no one can ‘steal’ your given support, not even the often ego-selfish pointless Down-Voters. I thank you for all the support you give, anywhere !

Yum! I love Sushi, especially with Smoked Salmon, but the latter is very expensive here.
Thanks for sharing the step-by step, I'd love to try making Sushi again, did it once for a foodie challenge once.
You've certainly mastered the art, looks so good, sure it was a happy party, dear Dan!

Yep, and everything was gone in a sec... Normally it's my Love who makes the sushi. Lucky me she loves them that much, that i can eat at least once a month. Hehehe !

Thanks Lizzie for reading and leaving a comment, much appreciated!

Lucky you indeed, I have to buy and it's quite pricey, but I spoil myself now and then. There's a really nice seafood restaurant that I order from when I don't feel like going out in the evening.

Se ven deliciosos los ssushis felicitaciones... Saludos y éxitos.❤️

Eran mejores de lo que parecen aquí. Hehehe !

Gracias por leer y dejar un comentario agradable. Te lo agradezco mucho.

WOW! You were right, I should have eaten before reading because it is breakfast time and all I want is some sushi now. You make it sound so easy, but there is no doubt I would screw it up somehow. Sadly my wifey hates sushi and the smell of raw fish. I typically only get sushi if I am out with friends or my sons. Banger of a post!

Hahahaha... I told You So! - have another coffee instead.:smirk:

If you can wrap a burrito, you can roll a Maki. #justSaying - Thanks a lot for coming over to read/comment and wow... thanks for the tip, that's definitely much appreciated dear Brother!

Drinking the coffee now. I can barely wrap a burrito, so I would hate to see the sushi roll I would make.

Hahahahaha... come on over here. I'll roll it for you.
