Hace unas semanas estuve visitando Mike Pollo, un restaurante que se encuentra ubicado en el municipio Mariño de nuestro estado, específicamente en la avenida 4 de Mayo, lugar que por cierto se encuentra un poco lejos de mi hogar.
Es un restaurante que aunque su nombre sugiere que solo venden pollo, puedo decir que tienen una gran variedad de platillos que van desde su especialidad que es el pollo en distintas presentaciones, hasta ofrecer hamburguesas, pizzas y mucho más.
El local está decorado en tonos marrones y naranja, y una pared completa exhibe azulejos con frases y figuras alusivas a la comida, usando esos mismos colores dándole al lugar un toque retro que por lo menos a mí me parece genial a pesar que los colores no son de mis favoritos.
Es un lugar bastante espacioso y con mesas pensadas para distintos tamaños de grupos, pues te encuentras de un lado mesas para cuatro y del otro tienen mesas con una especie de banquetas con espaldar acolchado para grupos más grandes.
Algo que me gustó mucho es que tienen una pared ideal para tomar fotografías en la que puedes ver dos alitas de pollo simulando alas de ángel y si te paras justo en el centro pareces un ángel con alas de pollo frito 🤣
En cuanto a la atención apenas llegas y tomas tu lugar, las chicas encargadas de atender a los clientes llevan los menús y promociones a la mesa y como pueden ver la comida es bastante variada y se puede decir que hay para casi todos los gustos y bolsillos. Eso sí, no siempre tienen todo lo que está en el menú, por lo que es mejor no ilusionarse con algo de lo que ves, pues es posible que para ese día no lo tengan disponible. En mi caso, yo prefiero preguntar qué tienen antes de enamorarme de algo y que al final no lo tengan disponible ese día.
Los precios son bastante accesibles comparados con lugares similares y si tomas en cuenta la relación precio/calidad, el costo es completamente justo, ya que las porciones son adecuadas y el sabor sin dudas es increíble, pues en las dos oportunidades en las que he ido la comida ha estado deliciosa y la verdad no puedo decir nada negativo al respecto.
La primera vez fui en grupo con algunas amigas de Hive y cada quien pidió algo diferente, quedando súper enamorados todos de la comida. En esa oportunidad, para mí y los niños (en esa oportunidad no fue mi esposo) pedí medio pollo a la broaster, el cual venía acompañado por arepitas fritas, ensalada y papas fritas, por un costo de 7$, lo que me pareció súper bien, ya que cada uno de los componentes del plato estaban increíbles.
En mi segunda visita fui con mi esposo y los niños por el día del. Padre, y en esta oportunidad quisimos probar algo diferente, y aprovechamos una promo que consistía en una hamburguesa doble proteína, que en ese caso era pollo crispy acompañado por un refresco, por solo 2$. La hamburguesa estaba simplemente deliciosa, pollo abundante, crujiente y con un sabor increíble, acompañada de una rica salsa tártara y queso tipo americano, así que 100% justificado su precio.
Si hay algo negativo que pueda decir de este lugar es su ubicación, pues se encuentra en una avenida bastante descuidada, lo que es triste, porque años atrás, antes de la crisis económica de nuestro país, era parada obligatoria de los turistas para hacer sus compras y ahora simplemente parece un lugar olvidado por Dios, bastante sucio y descuidado, y debo decir que sentí algo de miedo al caminar por ahí, quizá porque era domingo y estaba bastante solo, pero al entrar al local, por suerte, la experiencia cambia por completo.
¿Lo recomendaría? ¡TOTALMENTE!, pues a pesar de no estar en la mejor zona, la comida es buena, preparada al momento y con precios realmente geniales, así que si estás en la isla no puedes dejar de visitar Mike Pollo
A few weeks ago I was visiting Mike Pollo, a restaurant located in the Mariño municipality of our state, specifically on 4 de Mayo Avenue, a place that by the way is a little far from my home.
It is a restaurant that although its name suggests that they only sell chicken, I can say that they have a wide variety of dishes ranging from their specialty which is chicken in different presentations, to offer hamburgers, pizzas and much more.
The place is decorated in brown and orange tones, and an entire wall displays tiles with phrases and figures alluding to food, using those same colors giving the place a retro touch that at least I think is great even though the colors are not my favorite.
It is a very spacious place with tables designed for different group sizes, because on one side there are tables for four and on the other side there are tables with a kind of stools with padded backrest for larger groups.
Something I really liked is that they have a wall ideal for taking pictures where you can see two chicken wings simulating angel wings and if you stand right in the center you look like an angel with fried chicken wings 🤣.
As for the attention as soon as you arrive and take your place, the girls in charge of serving customers bring the menus and promotions to the table and as you can see the food is quite varied and you can say that there is something for almost every taste and pocket. Of course, they don't always have everything on the menu, so it's better not to get your hopes up for something you see, as it's possible that they won't have it available that day. In my case, I prefer to ask what they have before I fall in love with something and they don't have it available that day.
The prices are quite affordable compared to similar places and if you take into account the price/quality ratio, the cost is completely fair, since the portions are adequate and the taste is undoubtedly incredible, as in the two occasions I have been there the food has been delicious and I really can't say anything negative about it.
The first time I went as a group with some friends from Hive and everyone ordered something different, and we all fell in love with the food. On that occasion, for me and the kids (not my husband on that occasion) I ordered half a chicken broaster, which came with fried arepitas, salad and fries, for a cost of 7$, which I thought was super good, since each of the components of the dish were incredible.
On my second visit I went with my husband and the kids for Father's Day. Father's Day, and this time we wanted to try something different, and we took advantage of a promo that consisted of a double protein burger, which in this case was crispy chicken accompanied by a soda, for only 2$. The burger was simply delicious, abundant chicken, crispy and with an incredible flavor, accompanied by a rich tartar sauce and American type cheese, so 100% justified its price.
If there is something negative I can say about this place is its location, as it is located in a rather neglected avenue, which is sad, because years ago, before the economic crisis in our country, it was a must stop for tourists to shop and now it just looks like a godforsaken place, quite dirty and neglected, and I must say that I felt some fear walking around there, maybe because it was Sunday and it was quite alone, but when entering the place, luckily, the experience changes completely.
**Would you recommend it? TOTALLY, because despite not being in the best area, the food is good, prepared at the moment and with really great prices, so if you are on the island you can not miss Mike Pollo.
