Phone Gallery Cleanup Turned Into a Food Post

Hello everyone!

Today I spent part of the day cleaning the memory on my phone and accidentally discovered an entire collection of forgotten food photos from Thailand. Since food is one of the most popular topics on Hive, I decided not to simply delete them, but instead share them here.

And honestly, it makes perfect sense why food posts are so popular. We all eat every single day, but at the same time people are always curious about what others are eating somewhere else in the world. Different countries, restaurants, desserts, local dishes — food somehow became part of travel culture itself.

The funny thing is that I still do not fully understand why I constantly photograph food with my phone. 🙂

Every time someone brings a beautiful dish to the table, I automatically grab my phone and take a picture almost without thinking. It became some kind of reflex already. The strange part is that after taking the photo, I usually never look at it again until the day I decide to clean my gallery and free up storage space.

So today, while scrolling through hundreds of random photos from Thailand, I suddenly stopped at several dishes that I remembered not only visually, but also by taste.

And of course there were desserts.

My son is actually the main reason why dessert photos keep multiplying inside my phone gallery. He somehow notices every cake, ice cream, or sweet menu item from ten meters away. I also love desserts myself, but unlike him I try to control the temptation at least a little bit. Sometimes successfully… sometimes not. 🙂

First I selected several simple dishes that were not fancy at all, but were cooked incredibly well.

There were spaghetti with meat, meat served with egg and cheese, mashed potatoes with vegetables, and a creamy pumpkin soup. Nothing complicated, nothing “Instagram luxury style,” just normal comfort food prepared properly.

And honestly, while sorting through those photos I suddenly became hungry again.

It is amazing how food photography works on the brain. Even old phone pictures can instantly wake up your appetite and make you start thinking about cooking something similar at home.

Then came the dessert section of the gallery.

My son’s absolute favorite dessert is a lemon pie served with raspberry jam, ice cream, whipped cream, and small strawberry pieces. Every time he sees something remotely similar on a menu, the decision is made immediately.

There were also two more desserts in my gallery, and after looking carefully at them I noticed a funny pattern: all of them contained whipped cream and ice cream.

That is when I finally solved the mystery.

Now I understand how my son chooses desserts from menus even before reading anything. He simply scans the pictures and instinctively points at whatever contains cream or ice cream. Secret discovered. 🙂

It is funny how children can make decisions with absolute confidence based on the simplest logic possible.

By the end of this little gallery cleanup, I finally managed to free some memory space on my phone… only to probably fill it again with more random photos in the next few weeks. That cycle never really ends.

But maybe that is not such a bad thing.

These small accidental photos become tiny memories from everyday life: meals during trips, family dinners, desserts shared with children, spontaneous restaurant visits, or simply moments when the food looked too good not to photograph.

So if you enjoy simple phone food photography, I will probably continue posting these pictures from time to time. Maybe once a week.

And if you do not enjoy them… well, I will probably still post them occasionally anyway. 🙂

Bon appétit everyone!

Thank you for your likes, your comments, and your time. It never goes unnoticed.

I write my texts myself, correct mistakes and translate via ChatGPT (which is not a violation on Hive)! All photos were taken by me personally - I am a beginner photographer, so I ask professionals not to judge strictly.

Thank you for sharing these moments with me! Until new stories and new holidays! ✌️.

If there are no blog posts in the daily collection of best posts, it's not a good collection... 😂 I had lunch, I had a piece of chocolate just a few minutes ago, but after looking at your post, I'm hungry again!! 😂 I can understand your son and the whipped cream and ice cream strategy! You can't go wrong if you pick like that... 😃

Joke's on side... Speaking of food, when we are visiting different places, we tend to try local food, and very rarely does it go wrong... And not just local food, but "home-made" local food! Sometimes it's impossible to find it, but my strategy is to look at some local, cheaper, older restaurant with tradition... Check out the chef, and if it's an old lady or an owner, it has to be good! 😃

😂 Sorry for the extra hunger attack after the chocolate!

My son definitely has a talent for choosing desserts. ))

And yes, small old restaurants usually have much better food than expensive tourist places. Sometimes the simplest places serve the best meals. I actually have plenty of stories and photos from places like that in Bangkok, but they are still waiting their turn to be published. Glad my simple post somehow ended up in your feed!

Oh my goodness, what a delight @russia-btc 😍🤤!! Greetings bro and happy Tuesday to you and the family! 🫶😊

Thanks, bro! 👍
We look forward to more posts from you with amazing and colorful crafts!

I think you're no longer making photos with the camera you used in this video right?

Sometimes I want to share photos from my phone, because you can't always take out your camera. My phone camera is pretty good, but it's certainly a far cry from a professional camera.

Oh God! Now I can only blame myself for checking my feed.

No, I don't want these!

My new AI-powered, neural-connected translator translated it for me like this:

(Oh God! Now I can only thank myself for checking my news feed.
Yes, I definitely needed this! 🙂)
