Ever run out of face pads right when you need one?
I used to go through disposables, and so frustrating when they ran out! That’s why I started crocheting my own, and I haven’t bought a single pack since.
Reusable pads are a must in my skincare routine. They last forever, get softer with time, and after testing many designs, I’ve settled on this one I created: not too thick to soak up your facial cleanser and waste product, but just thick enough to cleanse beautifully.
It’s beginner-friendly and quick to make. I used to sell them, but now I’m sharing the pattern for free. Enjoy! 🌿💧
Reusable Crochet Face Pads
Skill Level: Beginner
Hook: 4.0 mm (G)
Yarn: 100% organic cotton in two or a few colours
🌼 Centre Circle
Start with a magic ring, then Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr),
Make 20 tr into the ring (21 tr total). Tighten the ring, sl st to the top of beginning ch-4.
Fasten off and weave in.
🔁 Outer Edge (Sc Border)
Sc in back loop evenly around (approx 2 sc per tr)
Sl st to first sc.
Ch 10.
sl st back into same stitch.
Fasten off and weave in.
🌀 Raised Ring
Using surface slip stitch, follow the gap around in between the tr and st.
Work one surface sl st in each post-space, going around the circle.
Sl st to finish the ring.
Fasten off and weave in.
The raised ring or ridge sits on top and fills the gap and strengthens the pad.
These are lightweight, quick to make, and lovely.
I added a little basket for them using 3mm macrame cords and 5.5 mm hook.
I simply made a magic ring.
6 sc
12 sc
sc all through
Attach a different colour for the edging,
Then make a knot to secure.
Fits in nicely.
It can be great for little gifts.
I enjoy using them.
A facial routine is never boring.
Have a lovely day,
Mariah 💗😊
