Foreword
Good day to all, in the last post about my Hive savings, I've mentioned about Rollercoin. Recently I have started playing and based on what I see so far, once I establish myself a little, I should be able to generate sufficient crypto out of it to perhaps fund some of my Splinterlands cards or even Hive/layer 2 tokens. Without further ado, let me share more on this light hearted game that I discovered recently and how it can possibly help me with my hive saving goal that I set for myself and also maybe pick up some modern Splinterlands cards to play better in modern format.
Rollercoin Introduction
This is a mining simulator game as per the cover photo and most importantly there is no KYC and totally free to play.
In this game, the goal is to earn hash power and this hash power is earned via playing some old school retro games. And with this hash power, you will be able mine the crypto coin of your desire. As you start growing, you will be able to even buy miners to assist you in mining (increasing your mining power). The mining power you have, the bigger the cut cut of the crypto released every 10 minutes.
What Are The Next Steps?
Now that you understand the basic concept of the game of gathering power through playing game. Let me share on the ingame currency which is called RLT. RLT cannot be bought from outside the game so you can either mine it or complete some ingame offers to earn them. RLT is useful for you to get some racks and miners.
For a start, I suggest to save up the RLT and watch out for the market to get some miners that have bigger mining power and bonus power percentage to strengthen your mining power. Continue to do this till you build up a small pool of miners. This is what I have built so far in my mining room:
Compared to others, mine is still a rather small mining room. So I am still aiming to get more miners to further increase my mining power.
Retro Games within Rollercoin
There are so many choices of games to play and most of it can be done less than 30 seconds.
My Current Mining Stats
Mining Power: 3.401 Ph/s (+2.29%)
Splits: 100% RLT
Earnings: 0.000132 RLT per block
Earned: 0 (this is the start of my tracking, so will count from 0)
Definitely not a big figure to start with, but I am certain when I start upgrading my miners and filling the whole room up, I will be having more crypto earned per block. For now, my goal is to ensure I mine more RLT and convert them into miners to boost mining power.
Assessment on Rollercoin
To be honest, there are many people are against this and mention this is a complete waste of time. However, my assessment is a little different, as savings requires discipline and takes time. So for me, embarking on this is like a small little discipline as this is a game that you have to login and play minimally 1 game daily. As the games are short, I can use some time during commuting or during lunch to play maybe 3-5 games and I am good for the day. While it might not earn me mountains, the key is here is the spirit of saving where we do this consistently and slowly build up our assets. If you are looking at Rollercoin as a money making tool to make you get rich, then this is not the thing for you. Saving and having some little fun is definitely something that makes the saving portion less mundane.
Closing
Hope you've managed to understand a little more on this game and why I embark on this. This is not the game to get rich, but it can help boost a little of the Splinterlands or Hive Asset that we are trying to build with just a small amount of time spent during commuting or while waiting for food during meals. Saving can always be fun. I will be continuing to track the earning (savings) from this as I continue to be disciplined daily to save. Happy saving!

What is Saturday Savers Club?
The Club is a supportive group of people who meet up around the weekly post, usually on a Saturday but occasionally on a Sunday, to share tips and techniques and have some fun in the process. Saving is a skill that takes time and practice to acquire and, like learning any skill, doesn't always go the way you planned.
