Delicious smoothie with banana, frozen papaya and chia seeds [Eng-Esp]

Today I have prepared a delicious and powerful smoothie to complement my breakfast and renew my energys a little.

Hoy me he preparado una deliciosa y potente merengada para complementar mi desayuno y renovar un poco las energías.

It has been a very hectic few days. Fortunately, it was time to take a break and dedicate some time to myself.

I took advantage of the fruits and other ingredients I had at home for my drink today. Frozen papaya is the first time I use it in a drink, I had forgotten I had it in the freezer as I usually like to consume it fresh.

I was very pleased to have realized it was there. Immediately, I imagined it with banana and other ingredients to give life to my thick, naturally sweet and very satiating drink, ideal to complete breakfast as was my case on this day.

Han sido días muy agitados. Por fortuna, llegó el momento de tomar un respiro y dedicarme un poco de tiempo.

Aproveché las frutas y otros ingredientes que tenía en casa para mi bebida de hoy. Papaya congelada es primera vez que la uso en una bebida, había olvidado que la tenía en el congelador ya que generalmente me gusta consumirla fresca.

Me gustó mucho haberme dado cuenta de que estaba allí. Inmediatamente, la imaginé con banana y otros ingredientes para dar vida a mi bebida espesa, naturalmente dulce y muy saciante, ideal para completar el desayuno como fue mi caso en este día.

Ingredients for one glass:

  • 1 banana.
  • 1 cup papaya chunks, frozen.
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds.
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk.
  • 1/2 cup cold water.

Ingredientes para un vaso:

  • 1 banana.
  • 1 taza de papaya en trozos, congelada.
  • 1 cucharada de semillas de chía.
  • 2 cucharadas de leche en polvo.
  • 1/2 taza de agua fría.

Preparation // Preparación:

First I soaked the chia seeds in the water for approximately 20 minutes.

After that time, the seeds had already swollen and released the gelatinous mucilage.

Now it was just a matter of blending all the ingredients, the fruits, the milk and the chia seeds together with the soaking water.

Primero remojé las semillas de chía en el agua por un lapso aproximado de 20 minutos.

Pasado ese tiempo, las semillas ya se habían hinchado y habían liberado el mucílago gelatinoso.

Ahora solo era cuestión de licuar todos los ingredientes, las frutas, la leche y las semillas de chía junto al agua de remojo.

At first, I thought of using only half a cup of papaya, but as I integrated the ingredients I realized that it lacked more color and sweetness, so I added half a cup more that I still had in the freezer.

Al principio, pensé en usar solo la mitad de una taza de papaya, pero al integrar los ingredientes me di cuenta que faltaba más color y más dulzura, así que agregué media taza más que aún me quedaba en el congelador.

After a few good blends, when the ingredients had integrated, my drink was ready to serve.

Después de unas buenas licuadas, cuando los ingredientes se habían integrado, mi bebida estaba lista para servir.

I garnished with some banana slices.

Adorné con unas rodajitas de banana.

A naturally sweet drink, with all the power of fruits and chia seeds that are rich in omega-3, among so many benefits.
