FOODlog #1334: Black Pepper Yaki Udon

in Ecency15 days ago

Haven't eaten fried udon noodles in awhile so I made some 🇯🇵🥢 Yaki Udon for our staff meal some time back. Writing this makes me wanna make this again soon!

A fairly simple dish to make, just chop up some vegetables of choice, I'm using napa cabbage, carrots and some shiitake mushrooms, saute until soften and season with salt.

Next some smoked duck goes in along with the blanched udon noodles and then everything is stir fried with a sauce I made from black pepper, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.

Stir fry on high heat for a couple of minutes and the dish is done. If it gets a little dry, simply add in some water of in this case, I used the water I used to soak the Shiitake mushrooms to soften.

Serve it up in a bowl, dig in with some chopsticks, and enjoy!

What's your favorite sort of noodles to Yaki?
