Date Night at Sushi Zanmai

My wife and I carved out some much-needed time for a date night, and Sushi Zanmai was our go-to pick for dinner. Have been craving for their Yakiniku Don which is basically the only thing I order there. A generous bowl of rice topped with tender, savory beef slices glazed in a sweet soy sauce, still sizzling from the pan. There's also French Beans and onions cooked with it that gives it a nice crunch and wonderful natural sweetness. It's also topped with slivers of crispy fried garlic that gives it another layer of texture. Every bite had that rich umami depth that made me slow down just to enjoy it.

My wife chose a salmon salad and we shared a the Unagi Sushi Roll as it was on a special offer price. The grilled eel was buttery soft with that classic smoky-sweet tare sauce, wrapped in perfectly seasoned rice. No fancy frills, just simple, comforting Japanese flavors and quality time together.

The next day, the delicious beef cravings still lingered so I cooked a delicious piece of ribeye for our family lunch 😄
