Snow Day and Mexican Food
What do you want to eat when it’s freezing cold in winter or super hot in summer? How about spicy food? I think spicy food is good for both seasons. I can't eat spicy food very well, but I like it so much. I don't remember my first Mexican food in my life, but I still remember my first taste of tacos, burritos, and more.
I think it was around the time I was in elementary school. At the Mexican restaurant, there were Mexican staff who made delicious food. The smell of the food wafted from the store into the station area. Mexican music cheerfully echoed. Inside the store, the atmosphere was so pretty. It was fun to see Mexican art, photos, and traditional food and instruments on the walls.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved their huge, colourful plastic cups for drinking water. Yes, we needed to drink a lot with spicy food! I loved the spicy chicken, fries, and the taco set meal. Their burritos were also so tasty. I would sometimes have a bite from my brother's dish.
Look at this cold winter sky and frozen lake. It was so cold on this day. We enjoyed walking because nobody was at the park. Even though the lake is frozen, I don't want to walk on it... I don't have the courage to walk on the ice here.
My dog is wearing his winter jacket, but he looks cold in this photo. Oh, maybe not. He loves to go for a walk, anyway.
I can make tacos with a kit from the supermarket or with spices from a special store. However, I can't cook it from scratch without a kit.
My husband is in charge of making chilli beans. He uses black beans, onions, corn, ground pork, green peppers, diced tomatoes, and his secret spices. I like his guacamole made with yogurt instead of sour cream. It's healthier and gives me less guilt.
These are chicken taquitos and salad! We found these at a local supermarket. We usually go to the closest one, but this time we went to a supermarket in the next town. They have a slightly different selection. Our town has Indian, Korean, Japanese, and Jamaican food, and the next town has Filipino and Mexican food selections, I guess. I love taquitos very much!

雪の日とメキシコ料理
冬の凍えるような寒さや、夏の猛暑の日、みなさんは何を食べたくなりますか？ スパイシーな料理はどうでしょうか。スパイシーな料理はどちらの季節にも合うと思います。私はあまり辛いものが得意ではないのですが、それでも好きです。人生で初めて食べたメキシコ料理のことは詳しく覚えていませんが、初めて口にしたタコスやブリトーの味は、今でも覚えています。
おそらくあれは小学校の頃だったと思います。そのメキシコ料理店には、美味しい料理を作るメキシコ人のスタッフがいました。お店からは駅の周辺まで料理の香りが漂い、陽気なメキシコの音楽が響いていました。店内の雰囲気はとても素敵で、壁にかかったメキシコのアートや写真、伝統的な料理や楽器を見るのが楽しかったです。
スタッフはとてもフレンドリーで親切でした。飲料水用の、大きくてカラフルなプラスチック製のカップが好きでした。辛い料理にはたくさん水分が必要です！スパイシーチキンとフライドポテト、タコスセットが大好きでした。ブリトーもとても美味しかったです。時々、弟のブリトーを一口もらいました。
この寒々とした冬の空と凍った湖をご覧ください。この日はかなり寒かったです。公園に誰もいなかったので、散歩を楽しみました。湖は凍っていますが、その上は歩きたくないです...この氷の上を歩く勇気はありません。
愛犬はウィンタージャケットを着ていますが、この写真では寒そうに見えます。でも、やっぱり寒くはないのかもしれません。とにかく、彼は散歩が大好きですから。
スーパーや専門店のキットを使えば、私でもタコスは作れます。でも、キットなしで一から作ることはできません。
チリビーンズは夫の担当です。彼は黒豆、玉ねぎ、コーン、豚ひき肉、ピーマン、ダイストマトを、秘伝のスパイスで味付けします。サワークリームの代わりにヨーグルトを使った彼のワカモーレが好きです。ヘルシーで、罪悪感も少ないです。
こちらはチキン・タキートとサラダです！地元のスーパーで見つけました。普段は最寄りのスーパーに行きますが、今回は隣の町のスーパーに行きました。少し品揃えが違います。私たちの町にはインド、韓国、日本、ジャマイカの食材がありますが、隣町にはフィリピンやメキシコの食材が多々あるようです。私はタキートがとても大好きです！
この写真を見たら、今夜メキシコ料理が食べたくなってしまうのではないでしょうか！
