Japanese and Thai Restaurant

I had takeout sushi and Thai food from a Japanese and Thai restaurant the other day. It was fun to visit this restaurant. I visited here a few years ago, and I didn't go back for a while. I wanted to go back, but it took a long time to revisit there.

It's very interesting having a combination of Japanese food and Thai food at the same time. Both are my favourite foods. It's an amazing idea to have both of them at the same restaurant. Their shef makes authentic Thai food, so they are very tasty.

This cool retro-looking sign is outside the restaurant. I can feel the history of the restaurant. I think it's a cool, traditional-looking building shapes of a design. The font and the picture of sushi look so pretty. The name of the restaurant is so catchy.

IMG_2042.jpeg

I love the neon sign of sushi on the interesting shape of the window. I like the bamboo decoration on the window as well.

IMG_2044.jpeg

This main entrance area also has a cool sign on the window. The guy looks like a Japanese man from ancient times. It's the fun image that this Japanese man is not smiling. I guess this image is of a strong Japanese man.

IMG_2048.jpeg

Inside the entrance, there is a funky-looking reception. There was a pretty lady who welcomed us. Her attitude is very professional, well-mannered, and kind.

IMG_2047.jpeg

Love this Maneki-Neko! The maneki-neko (招き猫, beckoning cat) is a common Japanese symbol which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The cat is inviting luck and is holding the old Japanese coins in its hand.

The menu is very fun to check. There is are variety of Japanese food, and sushi. Additionally, there is a tasty Thai food on it.

IMG_2046.jpeg

After ordering food, I waited outside the restaurant, seeing beautiful spring flowers. I heard bees on it. The lady at the front said it will take only 15 minutes! They were so quick.

IMG_2049.jpeg

Back inside, there are some beautiful paintings on the wall. I love this big painting with the pretty hanging light. I also like the funky object in front of the painting.

I couldn't take photos of people, but it's a great image of people enjoying and eating Asian food in front of this painting. I think the atmosphere is such an important key to a popular restaurant. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel like you are in Asia.

Interestingly, we experience this type of cool oriental Japanese restaurant interior in foreign countries, but you can't really experience this kind of atmosphere in Japan. This Western-style-looking Asian image is so cool.

I ordered some Nigiri sushi. The left ones are eels, and the right ones are scallops. There was no sweet sauce on the eels, but the taste was pretty good.

The seaweed band looks a bit awkward, but looks pretty.

IMG_2051.jpeg

There are more Nigiri, which are Tuna, Shrimp, Inari (sushi of vinegared rice tucked inside sweet and salty deep-fried tofu pockets), salmon, and California rolls. They all look colourful and tasty.

To be honest, I am from a city where they serve super fresh and delicious sushi everywhere in Japan, so I was spoiled for eating fresh sushi. That's why I shouldn't expect super authentic taste in a different country, especially countryside. However, I enjoy having this opportunity.

IMG_2052.jpeg

This is shrimp and chicken curry Pad Thai. Yum! They used to have general Pad Thai, but I think I like curry Pad Thai as well.

IMG_2053.jpeg

This is Tom yum kung with shrimp. I requested them to make too spicy one due to my health condition. I should reduce spicy food for a while. It was pretty mild with a taste of spice. Delicious!

IMG_2054.jpeg

I love eating a ginger side dish called Gari in Japanese. The wasabi and soy sauce tasted was also pretty good.

I ordered a lot for two people, planning to have leftovers for the second day as lunch. I enjoyed sushi and Thai food for two meals!

IMG_2045.jpeg

IMG_2042.jpeg

IMG_2044.jpeg

IMG_2048.jpeg

IMG_2047.jpeg

IMG_2043.jpeg

IMG_2046.jpeg

IMG_2049.jpeg

IMG_2050.jpeg

IMG_2051.jpeg

IMG_2052.jpeg

IMG_2053.jpeg

IMG_2054.jpeg

Thank you for reading!

Thank you!

Ohhh, this is a good find of a restaurant. They also have a good ambiance inside and outside it. And the foods, gosh, I am so curious with those sushi and the thai foods. Seeing the soup, I feel like it taste really flavorful. Is it possible to dip the sushi in those soup? 🤔🤔

Yeah, it's fun to visit this restaurant.

Is it possible to dip the sushi in that soup?

Sushi rice is mixed with sugar and rice vinegar, so it has a slightly sour taste. But Tom Yum Kung soup also has a sour flavour from the fish sauce... Hmm... 😄 it's hard to judge! Plain rice definitely goes better with this soup, though!

Thai and Japanese — that's an interesting fusion. Looks like a cool restaurant!

Yeah, it's an interesting fusion, eh? A Thai chef is making pretty good sushi. Still, I miss Japanese kaiten-zushi!

Thank you!

I would never think they would go well together but they did? The food looks really yummy too!

Yeah, it kind of feels like you're having a cultural potluck party or something, I guess! But since both sushi and Pad Thai are rice-based, you might end up feeling really full!😄🍚

Both Japanese and Thai foods are known delicious for using traditional seasonings and ways of cooking and good thing this Restaurant have both Japanese and Thai foods. Thanks for sharing this one and have a safe day.

Thank you! Yeah, I love both foods very much. As you said, both cultures have very tasty seasonings for their meals. The fusion of Thai and Japanese food creates a very happy atmosphere!
