Preparation for the Garden

The weather is still chilly in the mornings and evenings, but the daytime is gradually becoming warmer and nicer. Today’s temperature was around 20 degrees! I'm not feeling very well lately, so my husband prepared the first round of our garden the other day.

We got fresh seeds for both the front garden and the backyard. We're planning to do our annual garden style again this year. The Three Sisters Garden is in the main garden. For the Three Sisters Garden, we got corn, green beans, and kabocha squash seeds. Since we’re still having morning frosts, we’ll wait a few more weeks before planting.

For our greenhouse, we got some herb seeds like sweet basil, cilantro, and parsley. I also kept some shiso seeds, so I’ll start those soon.

This is our backyard garden bed. It's getting older, but still good enough to plant some vegetables. We plan to grow peppers, snap peas, tomatoes, and cucumbers. We’ll probably plant potatoes and garlic as well.

We noticed that the garlic we planted last autumn looks ready to harvest. We’ll pick them soon. After that, we’ll add some manure and prepare the bed for planting.

It is so nice to have lots of vegetables seeds. We can plant more of it to the Garden. Here in our country, vegetable seeds are very expensive.

I see... seeds are not always reliable anymore. I usually keep seeds from my plants at the end of summer, but some of them don’t work well. So I need to add new seeds from time to time. Hopefully, the vegetables will grow nicely this year!🌱
