This little baby deer decided to pose for me this morning on my walk. Their mom and sibling are up by the mailboxes in the upper right corner.
It's a pretty quiet neighborhood so the roads aren't too busy. There are a few deer that do live their lives in our town.
Some people might chase them out of their yard but I think overall they have a pretty good life. :)
Last week they were a little more shy when I passed by. I think they are getting used to humans. :)

Went to the farmers market today, to buy corn. I have my supplier and only buy from him as his corn is the genuine, old type, which is not so sweet. Bought a lot of things and showed the photo to one of my friends.

It's an El Niño year. For my region in south Texas it means fewer hurricanes and more rain in autumn.
Just for the record... It's not something known a priori that it will be in a certain year, but instead because the conditions that usually form an El Niño have been met. Even if we know it's something cyclic, it's still very irregular.

I guess🤷 I really don't buy groceries anymore. My oldest is market manager at a store. He brings groceries in as needed. I go and get occasional things we're out of tho.
I would say tho if pressed that prices would be better in larger town/city.
Those red grapes would be nice. I like to freeze them, and in the hot summer, they're a treat. The Michelob also would be nice. The ribs and the chocolates too. 😆
We get ribs occasionally and grapes we have pretty often. Ricky, my son tries to keep fresh fruit for Micah. Oranges, apples, bananas and grapes.
These are great healthy snacks. The ribs may be another matter, specially if they come loaded with sweet delicious sauce.
I prefer my ribs smoked without sauce lol fact most meat without sauce unless it's something I'm craving

The one I completely disagree with is the mentality or so called custom that either a man takes responsibility over a child or not, he can always claim his child as per paternity

It does make me wonder whether that belief has become so accepted that people use it to excuse irresponsibility instead of challenging it and do you think that belief has unintentionally made some fathers feel less accountable for their responsibilities?
Some will even tell you that on their child's wedding day, no one can replace them. You won't even see them mention convocation or matriculation
It is true that many of the practices and rules we adhere to have existed long before we were born. That also shaped the core of our mentality, and how we react towards social issues.
But as an adult, I've learned to be more curious in seeking the truth and motive behind things.
And one thing society treats completely normal that I do not quite agree with is the transfer of ownership of community assets to men and never women.
It proves that society still values men over women, and I find it nauseating to say the least.
It's interesting how some traditions survive even when the reasons behind them are no longer questioned....buh do you think it's mostly about preserving tradition or preserving male privilege?
I belive it's the latter being masked as the former. Crazy stuff but I hope more people begin to break free from these things.
I do wonder though if every tradition that benefits men was originally created because of privilege, or if some simply outlived the circumstances that gave rise to them. You know people smtimes keep doing things without ever asking why

One of them for me is why parenting work is left to the woman alone when both parents brought the children to the world. If child grows up bad, it's mother's fault. If child grows up good, it's father's pride. Both should have a hand in that child's life no matter what.
I agree that both parents should be actively involved. But do you think society always gives fathers the credit when a child turns out well? I've seen many cases where mothers receive the praise too...
Maybe the real issue isn't who gets the credit, but that people tend to place almost all the responsibility on the parent who is more present. If that's the case, isn't absence the bigger problem than gender?

I agree that absent fathers are a real issue. But I wonder if the blame falls on mothers mainly because they're usually the ones who stay. If the roles were reversed and the father was the present parent while the mother was absent.....

Happy Tuesday, Bethel. You're right when you say motivation doesn't come always. I've dealt with this at different points. However, my mindset towards life helps me navigate my low energy.
I remind myself that some days can be different and I don't have to beat myself up.
Then my friends motivate me because I often confide in them. They share positive words with me, buy me a treat sometimes or offer to help with whatever I need to get my motivation back.
This is why I'll always be grateful to them.
I'm glad you have friends that motivate you towards being the best version of yourself and they genuinely care about you.

Friendship is one of the best gifts one can have when you're with the right people but I've witnessed 3 friends not working out. They are always better off as 2 friends until the third comes in and turns out to be in the middle till everything becomes chaotic.

Everything was so good about this show, the only thing I disliked was the fact they justified cheaters. Basically two main lead their partners cheated on those leads and they somehow passed away. After their death both of them lived in guilt thinking they were at fault for it which is not something should be promoted. Otherwise this show is a 100 on 100.
